The EEA project follows up on the long-term and systematic reconstruction and revitalization of the Umelka building and the entire complex by the Slovak Union of Visual Arts over a period of more than 15 years:

- 2010: the concept of modifying the Umelka complex was created on the basis of a competition, the winner of which was ATELIÉR ART — Ing. arch. Ľubomír Boháč

- November 2011: SUVA obtained a building permit for the implementation of the project; in the following years, the first stages were completed

- On November 28, 2019, a meeting was held in the UMELKA Gallery with representatives of the local and regional artistic community in order to presentation of the project by the representatives of the submitter (Slovak Union of Visual Arts), presentation of community involvement in the project, presentation of the possibility of cooperation within the project implementation. The present participants of the meeting were acquainted in detail with the project and positively evaluated the submitted project plan. They stated that in the case of successful acquisition of funds for the implementation of the plan, it would be a very welcome contribution to the dignified celebration of the centenary of the national cultural monument, an iconic place of Slovak culture.

- November 2019: SUVA submitted an application for an EEA grant, in which it included the next stage of reconstruction in accordance with the modified project
